These are a few pictures from 1st Saintfield Knit and Natter morning out to The Wool Shop, Newcastle, Co Down. Margaret the shop owner warmly welcomed our small group and gave us a few insights into Fairisle knitting techniques. We enjoyed tea, coffee, cakes and biscuits and a bit of chat as usual, but really enjoyed our venture out and of course a look around the selection of wool for sale. We may have also stopped in a local cafe for lunch before we set off home too! If you would like to come and join us at Knit and Natter we run every Monday morning in 1st Saintfield Presbyterian Church – Minor Hall and you can drop in any time between 10am and 12pm. We will have a cuppa ready and we always have something sweet to tempt the taste buds. Most importantly of all, we are there for the chat and the craft. You can bring any craft you like with you or come along and try a new one, or simply just pop in for the chat if you are a bit apprehensive of learning something new. We have knitting needles, crochet hooks and spare wool for you to try your hand if you wish to, without any layout or expense whilst you learn. We’d love to see you, come along and try us out.
